Availability editor redesign
Redesigned a booking app's availability editor after support tickets kept pointing to the same confusion, and handed engineering a working prototype.

Problem
The availability editor had piled up friction over several iterations. Customers didn't understand how rules combined, and tickets kept landing on the same edge cases. It needed a rework, not another patch.
Approach
I mapped the friction points from tickets, sketched a simpler mental model and built a React prototype with Vite so the redesign was something you could click through. Engineering saw the full flow working before committing time to build it.
Solution
An editor with a clearer rule hierarchy, better visual cues when availability overlaps, and a shorter path for the most common cases.
Results
- Working prototype handed to engineering as the redesign reference.
- The debate moved from "what should it look like" to "how do we migrate existing merchants".
