Sahueso

An Amazon deal tracker that scrapes prices, keeps price history and posts automatically when a real deal shows up.

Problem

Finding a genuinely good deal on Amazon takes time: prices change several times a day and plenty of "discounts" are inflated. Checking by hand doesn't scale.

Approach

I designed it as a system that runs on its own: scheduled jobs collect prices, a database keeps the history so you can tell whether a discount is real, and a bot alerts and posts when a rule is met.

Solution

Amazon and Woot scrapers scheduled with GitHub Actions (Playwright and Cheerio), price history in Turso, a Telegram bot built with grammY that posts the deals, and a Next.js dashboard to browse products, see price charts and set thresholds.

Results

  • Checks prices every 30 minutes with nobody touching it.
